LIST OF CONTRAINDICATIONS
Individuals with the following cases of disease or conditions should not be undergoing and EMS trainings or treatments:

Implanted or external medical device (e.g. cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, metal implant).

Severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. severe heart or aortic disease).

Neurological disorder (e.g. conditions affecting the brain and nerves throughout the body and spinal cord).

Medicated or medication-uncontrolled seizures or convulsions (e.g. epilepsy).

Severe neuromuscular disorder (e.g. rhabdomyolysis or any disorder that affects the nervous system and the muscles and causes rapid breakdown in muscle structure).

Cancerous lesions (e.g. breast cancer).
-
Nephrological disease (kidney disease).
-
An existence or a tendency of internal bleeding.

Non-intact skin (e.g. infected, inflamed, irritated or oedematous skin area).

Attempting to get pregnant, during pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.

In addition, current clients must wait a minimum of 48 hours (2 days) between EMS sessions.

In some cases, individuals with a condition or disease listed above may be eligible to undergo EMS trainings or treatments with the written approval and directions of their physician(s).
CONDITIONS THAT REQUIRE MEDICAL CLEARANCE
In the following cases, medical consultation is obligatory. Any other disease or unusual, abnormal physical condition or symptom also requires medical approval before undergoing EMS training:

Non-metallic or other implants (e.g., silicone implants, gynecological implants).

In case of less severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. hypertonia, high blood pressure).

Recent surgical procedure, medical intervention, acute trauma or during any medical treatment (e.g. drug treatment).

Abdominal or inguinal hernia.

Chronic disease, fever, contagious disease, acute or chronic infections (bacterial or viral).

Diabetes.
-
Painful, sensitive skin or skin areas lacking normal sensation.

Menstrual cramps.
-
Abnormal obesity or extreme physical inactivity.
-
Mental deficit.
-
The client must not be affected by drugs or alcohol during Paragon EMS Trainings.
